Faraway Skies

I've been attempting to write on Faraway Skies since January but everything I write down never seems to feel right. It's like a nine month long writers block. But I'm back (and hopefully to stay) so I won't bore you with the details of what happened during my hiatus. But I will write you a lovely little list of the major things; just so you can get to know the older, wiser (one does hope) Chelsea.

1)The braces are gone. Corn on the cob>life.
2) Exams were passed...even maths to my surprise.
3)Life as an A level student is not at all like I thought it would be. College, as it turns out, is more stressful than the wait for season six of the Vampire Diaries.
4)Remember that lovely yellow hair I was sporting since this post? Well, that's gone! Hallelujah. From now on, listen to my mother on anything hair related.

And finally:

5)I finally ticked something of the incredibly long bucket list: Go to Paris.

So to summarise in five points, that's been my life for the past nine months. Fun and hectic. Joyful and a whole lot of stress! But really, all you could ask life to be.

You know I've been saying lately life has been busy? Well, as I write this I am expected to travel back to school for six o'clock to help out at a parent open evening...that's until eight o'clock. Yesterday I didn't actually get back home until half past eight at night. I have after school revision practically every single day of the week plus attempting to revise for a maths resit which I need to get an A or above in to even be considered for the sixth form of my choice. Breathe. Need. To. Stop. If I don't post anything for a while, then you know my head has combusted. xo

Phew! My operation went okay! My leg is all bandaged up and I'm able to walk (ish) on it now after five days without too much pain! I have to go back on Tuesday for a check up and to change the dressing but so far so good. A massive thank you to my friends and family for the sweet messages and support, you guys are awesome!
This dress is pretty darn perfect for the almost perfect weather Wales has gotten lately (thank you Mother Nature for making the weather nice when I CAN'T BLOODY DO ANYTHING). I paired it with this adorable straw bag from Primark, it's so, so cute and has a great festival vibe! I adore the cut out detail on the back of the dress; I don't normally go for something so bright but I looked at it and thought "eh, why not?" Bright colours mean bright moods after all!
Well, I hope you guys have a great week enjoying the sun. Jealous, moi? No...I'll just sit inside eating my milk tray(s), watching sad movies and get nostalgic about the last time I shaved my right leg. Good times....good times.

So I'm back! Note to any of you guys thinking of paying a visit to Cornwall in March: don't, it's freezing! I spent the whole week in jeans (sigh) and thick jumpers, jumping up and down to get the circulation going in my toes! It's safe to say that packing a floral play suit and loafers wasn't the best idea I've ever had!
Regardless of the terrible Cornish weather, Cornwall is such a beautiful to visit! We had a little stone cottage (it was tiny...does that count as a cottage?) overlooking the sea in Penzance and we had a great view of Saint Michael's Mount which my dad informed me had been in the Aubyn family for about six hundred years! Kind of creepy living in a castle that is only accessible during low tide though, isn't it?
Visiting Land's End again was an experience. We picked one of the coldest days to visit the end of the United Kingdom and I couldn't even feel my hands by the time we left! If your ever in the area, it's definitely worth a visit! As well as some shops and a café, Land's End offers a picturesque coastal walkway with absolutely stunning views; just remember to wrap up warm!

Hello! Welcome to the first ever post on my brand spanking new blog www.faraway-skies.blogspot.com! I love this little forest that stared in this photo shoot. My sister and I walk up there practically every weekend to take photos and even though it's smack in the middle of drab Pontypool (small Welsh towns suck) it still has a beautiful view where you can see everything from Griffithstown to Newport's Transporter bridge.



The little ensemble I'm wearing in these pictures is perfect for the cold weather we've been getting lately! I've grudged-up a real casual tunic dress I got for £13.00 with my leather jacket, thick woollen scarf and cream bobble hat. The black daps I paired with it aren't the best, but hey! It was really muddy up there!
